    Comodo Leak Test

I am currently running the trial version of Avast Internet Security which includes a firewall. I found a tool called Comodo Leak Test which supposedly tests the effectiveness of your firewall. I got a score of 180/340. It gives you a descriptive glossary of information about the results. Have many people used this tool? What sort of scores should I expect? Is a score of 340 even possible for most PC's?

    Thanks,

    Hi Seag33k,

I haven't tried it yet, but I'm using Comodo myself and I'm pretty sure that it gives me 340/340. Just guessing, but maybe they try to sell more Comodo

You can get the tool from here:

Firewall Test for Computer Security is a Free Personal Firewall Test

I'd be interested in other peoples results if their willing to share them.

I expect 340 is only possible with Comodo products.

Just got 210 - am running windows firewall.

I don't know if those supposed threats are real.

I agree, I'd be somewhat skeptical about any vendor test tool :)

I do like the idea of a tool that can test your firewalls effectiveness beyond using GRC Sheilds Up.

i have tested several firewalls, and a lot of them are not good....
fx. when i tested ESET it performed so bad that i couldnīt believe the results, so i ran the same test again.
my testresults are posted on both forum.thewindowsclub.com & sevenforums, do a search...

    many firewalls are really bad:

yes, Comodoīs firewall got 340/340 points when i tested it.
and it was the only one...

no, Comodoīs firewall (the very best) is FREE !
can it be any better ?
CLT is a package of testsoftware not created by Comodo,
    but "put together" by them.
and since the firewall is FREE, are there any reason not to trust the testsoftware ?

it looks like you are running as admin ?

    thatīs very dangerous.
you should NEVER use an ADMIN-account for normal work !
always use a normal USER-account, and only use the ADMIN-account when itīs absolutely needed,
    fx. when doing system maintenance.

WF has a few leaks running on a normal USER-account, and even more leaks on an ADMIN-account....

Good point. I also tested the leak test with a normal user and it still came in only at 210. The tool prompts the UAC so if you don't give it perms it won't run and the test would fail. But after allowing it to run, I still get low scores while running the tool with a normal user account. Any ideas?

I just installed comodo firewall and avast free edition. Ran the tool under a normal user and still only got a score of 200 after allowing UAC to run the tool and letting comdo open the interface. I guess if I didn't let UAC open the app it should of stopped the process from going any further. Is this how others have run the tool with non admin users?
