Sorry Amber, same as your "what is the best browser" question, except AV programs can be tested for their abilities. But I think you will find that there are 4 free AV mentioned most commonly. AVG, Avira, Avast and MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials). I personally use Avast. I have avira as a 2nd, on demand scanner (deselect Active Guard when installing). Never used AVG, but many like it. MSE has garnered good reviews, and many like it. None are perfect, but all have good detection rates. A Guy

Do I need 2 Antiviruses for Vista and WIndows 7 ?
I am dual booting right now and Use McAfee 2009, which works very well with Vista. Now when I use Windows 7, It asks for an anti virus programme, and when I tried to install, it gave me a message that "this programme has known compatibility issues" .. What do I do ? Please suggest.
