Alright, have you uninstalled yet?

Might I suggest you try the repair install method mentioned by Corrine in this post first?

Alright first you need to download and save to your desktop this file (see screenshot)

AVG Free - Direct download

That's your new install, just leave it there for now.

I'll give you a link for an uninstaller next but I need to know if you are using a 32 bit or 64 bit system.
