    problems with c and desktop

    Hi there everyone.
Something about windows 7 bothers me a lot.I don't have full access on my c drive and desktop. For example when I am trying to download sht directly to desktop it says that becuse of admin permissions you can not download a file on desktop.Orfor example when I am trying to create a zip file with winrar it says access is denied.because the zip file will be created on desktop so it doesn't have the permission and surely, access will be denied.the point is I am the admin. So how can I get rid of these kinds of errors?
    thanks for your reply

    Welcome

You must take ownership. If you are still having problems, make sure that you have permission.

This is a common misconception carried over from the XP days.

Unless you went to the trouble to unhide the real Administrator account and use it (and I'm guessing you would have mentioned doing that) you are NOT the Admin. What you are, instead, is a general user with SOME admin rights.

This is why you have to take ownership of some things -- you don't automatically have the rights needed to mess with them.

I would suggest that you do not use the Real Administrator account for routine, day to day use. It is there to help in emergencies.

I didn't test the ownership method yet, because I didn't have time. But would you please tell me how I can access to that real admin thing?

    For both 7 and Vista

Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable[2]=User Accounts

This is for emergencies; correct your problem and then hide again, until needed.
