    Thank you Mr Birthday Boy

I've got one location where a few new vista systems have been installed - lots of KB's going through at once so having the KB number makes it easier to filter the update logs

    I like easier
You're welcome Nigel, I like easier too!

Just did it, took 1.5 minutes. I did get a couple pop-ups during "Security is off you are not protected, turn it on"... and "Windows Defender is off, turn it on"... I was thinking Windows Defender was not needed with MSE.

It isn't, MSE will turn it off, it was just saying that because it didn't detect an

AV while it was doing the update.

So I did the update but a problem still persists. This happens almost all the time but not ALL the time. When I reboot, MSE starts and the icon is on the task bar. It shows that MSE is running and up to date. When Action Center finishes starting I get the red flag and Action Center reports that AV/AS are NOT running and asks me to turn them on. I do this and then the red flag goes away. I have had this problem for a few months and started a thread about it. I was hoping with this latest update it would be corrected but it is not. Does anyone else experience this? It is a little thing and I could just turn off the red flag notices but am curious why it happens.
