    maybe you have to open some ports on your router? (so you can accept incoming connections)

    please let us know which games give you trouble....

    ...and have you tried temporarily disabling it?

    i'm pretty certain you will still have to open up ports on your router, even if you're playing on lan and not internet.

    here's some info from sins of a solar empire website:

    Q: The game is telling me that I may not be able to host the game. What do I need to configure?

    A: The default port Sins of a Solar Empire uses for hosting games is 6112 (TCP). The default port can be changed in the user.setting file (see power user settings in the technology section).

    Make sure your router has this Port Forwarded to your computer's IP address or has UPnP enabled. All computers behind a router should have their own unique GameHostPort setup in case the original host leaves and a new host for the game is needed.

    Here is an Example: (computers behind router):

    Computer IP user.settings -> GameHostPort Router Port Forwarding Setting

    192.168.1.47 6001 6001 -> 192.168.1.47
    192.168.1.201 6002 6002 -> 192.168.1.201
    192.168.1.35 6003 6003 -> 192.168.1.35

    Q: Where can I get more help with setting up my computer for multiplayer?

    A: We recommend you check out:PortForward.com - Port Forwarding Guides Listed by Manufacturer and Model
    repost if you need more help, letting us know your router model.
