hmm, i've just done a clean install of 7, and decided to try out the new kaspersky.

i was curious to see if my wei score had improved since the last installation.

imagine my surprise when i see an error message.

i've got all the updates and latest drivers.

i remember months ago, kis had a problem with wei. i wonder if they've reintroduced it?

i'm not too bothered by this, it's a trivial issue after all. i can't be asked uninstalling kis and trying wei again.

no other problems with kis 2011...yet...

maybe this problem has nothing to do with kis either...

i am interested if any other kis 2011 users can run wei?
i can run my wei just fine. mine even gives 5.1.. i just wont post it since a lot of people have better weis than mine..

A 5.1 WEI is nothing to be ashamed of my friend, I will test my WEI again a little later, see if KIS 2011 has any problems with it, will keep you posted :)

Problem solved just added the program to the exclusion list :)
Works like it always used to now.

    Hi Steve,

Not sure adding program to the exclusion list would be my first choice, although as long as the properties of that exclusion is still to scan the program you should be fine. It might be that KIS has placed that program in the untrusted or restricted group in Application Control. Please go to settings\application control\ click on Applications. In the Applications window, see where KIS placed that program you had to add to exclusions. If it is a program that you trust and its not in the trusted group, highlight program and choose move to and select trusted. Your application should now be listed under the trusted folder drop down either in the manufactures folder or directly in the trusted folder itself.

Again, I don't think its dangerous to place app in exclusions as long as program is still being scanned (while in the exclusions window\trusted applications tab, highlight your app and click "edit" for the settings to it, but its not the first thing I would do if you haven't looked into where KIS placed the app in application control.

    Good Luck,
    OEM

Yes, at one time KIS did interfere with the PC Rating, however thats been corrected a long time ago and is working fine here. It didn't improve my rating either lol.

On a different note, there is a separate website from K-Lab called Kaspersky Fan Club. Its where all the chatting goes, and more importantly skins! Lots of Skins! On the main forum, watch out for Don Petroles, he's a very hard noised old timer who know his stuff, but hates any nonsense of any kind and likes to enforce ALL rules and is fast to stop any Highjinks.

Thats another reason to enjoy KIS as they allow for people to create and distribute all kinds of different UI appearances and even sometimes add new functions/buttons. An example would be network blocker, there was a skin for 2010 that put the link to block all network activity right on the main ui. There were skins that also allowed to adjust and stop auto rootkit scans. KIS was running rootkit scans all the time in the background slowing PC's down, yet there was no way to stop this until someone made skins that included control over the rootkit scans.

As far as skins for 2011 or Pure, it's too early yet to see a lot skin choices, but give it time and look to a user named Pipkin, his skins are the best and he makes a lot of them. They can be downloaded from his blog section without having to create an account on the Fan Club site.

OK I have a little time on my hands and have just tried to run the program after placing it in the trusted group and it seems to be running ok :) Good news.

I wanted to ask about my "Utorrent" program as I am having the same problems with that, I want KIS 2011 to scan it when it is in use but I also want to be able to use it what group should that be placed in ?
