Welcome guys. As hackerman said, do not miss this offer. Its a very nice security app.
Can I use this software with Norton internet security 2010???
This is an antimalware app, works with all security programs as far as I have seen. It's an established program, and highly rated. A Guy
Sorry, I've never used the AV part of the program. I wouldn't replace Avast with it in any case. Avast is much higher rated. I use it w/ Avast, not sure if I've disabled the AV part...been so long, lol. A Guy
hi !
from my post above:
"a2 also works well TOGETHER with other Antivirus-programs, i have tested a2 together with Avira, Avast & MSE.
i have even tried a2, Avast & MSE together, ALL 3 with their realtime-protection on, and i have not noticed any problems."
i have tried:
a2 & Avast
a2 & MSE
a2, Avast & MSE
running a2 together with other A/V´s:
previously a2 checked files when they were executed, it could run together with (almost) all, other A/V´s.
2 clips from FAQ´s at Emsisoft:
----------------------------------------------------------------------
"Question: Is a-squared fully compatible with antivirus or firewall tools?
Answer: Yes.
a-squared was originally designed to be a complementary product to antivirus- and firewall software. It is no longer complementary, but instead a full replacement for any antivirus software today. Anyway it's still compatible with nearly all other programs.
Please note, that you should turn off other background guards while running a scan with a-squared. Other guards would check each file twice and the scan would take very long."
"Question: Does a-squared Anti-Malware replace my antivirus software?
Answer:
Since Version 4.0:
Yes, with the integration of a second scan engine, a-squared Anti-Malware became a full tool against all types of harmful software, including Viruses.
---------------------------------------------------------------
in the new version (v5) to more settings have been added for the "File guard":
1. Scan only programs before they are executed ( same as old version)
2. Additionaly scan all files when they are created or modified
3. Additionally scan all files when they are read
according to the recommendations from Emsisoft, if you also run another Antivirus-program
but, you might have to choose setting #1, to avoid conflicts between the 2 A/V´s.
i will try to find the post on their forum....
Emsisoft Support -> Anti-Malware, Mamutu, Online Armor
setting #1 should be enough, because a file really can´t do anything bad until its executed.
btw. their support is very good, last time i had a question, i posted on the forum and received an answer from the developer himself in 4 minutes.
MINUTES, not hours or days....
WOW !
