    Black Screen of Death

I was on my computer and picked up a virus, now instead of my desktop, i have a black screen with absolutely nothing on it, i cannot right click, I have to navigate my computer with task manager. If anyone has any insight on this problem, i would appreciate hearing it.

    Welcome!

Have you removed the virus yet?

For your info I have asked the mods to move this thread to the Security forum:

My trial Mcafe ran out a few days ago and was, a little to late, eventually going to get trend micro on here. I dont know if the virus is still there. Im not getting any pop ups freaking out about a virus, probably because they dont have a place to pop up from.

Please do a scan with Malwarebytes.

What are the symptoms of the virus?

Well, as far as I know the only thing wrong is lack of desktop, icons, taskbar, and the ability to right click on the desktop.

How do you know you got a virus? Could the problem be something else?

Your system restore points may be infected if it is truly a virus, but consider this anyway: System Restore

Definitely run a free scan using Malwarebytes.
