Please edit your post and remove the link to the site the scammer provided. I'll let the admins know about a potential threat and they might do it before you read this.

Unless, of course you're part of the scam, then you'll be banned.

People are inquisitive and even though they know better they somtimes can't resist a peek. So better not to tempt them - just give them your experience.

BTW: I don't have the power or authority to edit posts other than my own. I presumed yours was an innocent action but asked the admins to edit it out in case you didn't log on for a while.

so it's not a teamviewer scam! cant blame it on the program. I use that and it's a great program.

the blame lies with people who allow someone they dont know to control their computer.

Well, yes it is since it's a scam USING TeamViewer. I don't think anyone has said TeamViewer is a scam, many of us use it for remoting to people to help them.

Funny, I got one today on my business line. I saw by the number it did not look right so when I answered the phone instead of saying my company name I said "middlesex police dept. can I help you?" They hung up immediately and never called back. I am betting I will never hear from them again <g>

I always liked Z3r010's method. Act stupid for about 30 minutes and then say you have a Mac.

I was almost caught by this today. Someone called me on phone and said he was from Microsoft. He told me to look at errors and warnings in Event Viewer. I was skeptical, but got suspicious when he started to tell me to download Teamviewer. I did a quick search on Teamviewer Scams. And I found my way here. I told him I was late for a meeting and had to go. Thanks for the alert. And just a warning to let people know this is still going on.
