    Time-changing wallpaper or something?

    Sorry for the crummy description.

I'm curious if there's anything in 7 that would let you have like, a wallpaper of a landscape and then the sun & moon transit the sky throughout the day & night, for example. Shadows move, etc.

Or showing the solar system as it currently is (showing planetary phases, etc)...

I know that there are screensavers that do this sort of thing, but I'm curious about wallpapers/themes.

I'm still new to 7, just upgraded from XP Pro about two weeks ago.

    Thanks!

you couldl possibly have two wallpapers one day and one night and have them change every 12 hours , select the time in personalize / desktop background then change the time, you will have to put both pictures in a folder then browse to it in personalize/desktop background.

Yah.... thanks for the inputs. I don't think either of those really suits my purpose though. I mean, what I was thinking was the sun & moon crossing the sky realistically, the moon changing phases, sometimes stars, sometimes clouds... you could choose a variety of places around the world, or maybe fantasy planets or something (but reflecting the real-world sun/moon.)

I guess almost like an HD webcam view. Seems like it would take very little processing power because the image would only update very slowly with shadows creeping along, etc.

Doesn't seem like a Dreamscape unless it only ran at .008FPS and therefore a movie would need 720 frames to run a full day... but then it wouldn't encompass the seasons, etc. KWIM?

    Thanks again for your thoughts!!

i used to have this very thing on an Ubuntu laptop years ago and have been wanting a way to do it on Windows. i know EXACTLY what you are talking about as far as the actual wallpaper to rotate/scroll. On Ubuntu i had essentially the same picture, except each one was slightly modified to reflect the time of day. i have been looking for about an hour for even that wallpaper set but cannot find it. i cant find anything and that surprises me. i think it might be a matter of searching the right terms in google, i just haven't found one. i know this is an old post, but to actually change the wallpaper according to TIME OF DAY, this link might prover useful:

Wallpaper reflects time of day - Wallpapers - WinMatrix

EDIT: Found this: Ubuntu related Articles, Experiences...: Automatically change wallpaper according to time of the day in ubuntu
