    Miss XP Themes

For years I used the Eggplant" theme in XP, but I haven't been able to get the same colors. I am close on the Desktop color, but the background around everything is an ugly gray. Any suggestions?

i think you are trying to change the visual style, not the theme. see if maybe you can find something here:

Hello georgeann I've replicated your requested theme to near perfection

the appearance panel on left is the actual theme in XP Mode and the panel on the right is the theme I have replicated.

Unzip the file Eggplant theme and copy & paste the theme file into C/WINDOWS/Resources/Themes or just click on the theme & it will be installed at C/Users/Yourusername/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Windows/themes but may appear in the personalzation panel as an unsaved theme under My Themes, Just right click and save the theme, You can then use your own Picture for the desktop.

It is also a good idea to save the zip file as a backup since a custom theme can be accidently changed.

    Thank You

Thank you so much. The colors are so much easier on these 79-year-old eyes.

I've always loved Canadians. I don't know where you live, but 40 years ago my husband and I drove a motor home from Victoria to St John's on our honeymoon. I still have an empty Screech bottle on display in our living room.

Your help meant a lot to me.

Your quite welcome, I am living between the Screech (St John's ) and Victoria (BC) at the moment in Alberta.
