    Windows Aero not working

If this thread is allready somewhere here started than sorry but I just didn't notice it.

I tried almost everything to get my Aero back on but nothing works! I tried the microsoft Fix It but it just told me that my color depth isn't 32bit but 16bit (it really isn't...) and that my Desktop Window Manager isn't started even when it's started.... Afterwards it says that it is fixed but NOTHING is fixed....
I tried to restart the service manually in services.msc and I tried it in cmd also but just nothing works... After every restart I restart or relog but it stays the same.
Just so you could understand, my transparency, peak and animations aren't working and it kinda pi**es me off cause I got all the requirments for Aero and it quit working only few days ago and nothing works so I had to try this forum.
I hope that someone knows what to do with this...

    Thanks, Fasand.

Welcome to Windows 7 Forums, try selecting one of the themes that come with windows 7 in personalization and then reboot.

Hi Fasand and welcome to the forum. Have you tried a System Restore to a time just before this problem happened? That may be your best bet to fix the Aero problem as well as some of the other issues you've described. System Restore's preview function will offer to show you exactly what will be affected by restoring to the particular point you choose.

Here's some help from our tutorials:

Well I allready had to restore it but I did it when the problem was on and just because I tried to restart the dwm.exe process (my account just stopped working).
So I guess that I could try to restore it but I don't know if I did some things that this would erase in the time of the problem and since it is at least a week I'm kinda scared of it.
But thanks for advice I will try it as soon as possible.

Okey, I just found out that I will probably have to live with it or reinstall system cause my only restore points are for today and 2 days ago when I had to restore it because of quiting the dwm.exe.
I wanna ask if there is some way how to get some custom restore point from the internet or maybe another way to enable my Aero?

    Hi Fasand
To help you i am going to know what graphics card you have so i will need you to open up dxdiag. If you do not know how to do this then.
    Click start
    Type into the search box
    dxdiag
    and press enter
When it loads you should see the direct x diagnostic tool.
in the bottom corner of the windows there are three options. (exit, save all info and next)
click on save all info. and save it to a place you can find it easy.(desktop)
when you have saved it go to open the saved info highlight it all and copy/paste it to this thread.
    Thanks
    Ashley
