how to restore "Basic" theme from applying everytime exe starts?

i have magix movie edit pro 17 +
when i do a multi monitor setting, the program goes to windows basic mode and i dont know why.

fact is, without the multi monitor setting (and just the single monitor setting alone), it works perfectly without the need to change it to windows basic theme.

i know this because when i had it the trial version, i reinstalled it and it worked.

when i close movie edit pro, it goes back to normal, but when i reopen it, it turns into windows basic; i assume windows has an entry in the registry or something to tell itself to run in windows basic mode everytime the exe runs.

i would like to remove the settings windows has applied to this exe to make it have windows aero while opening the program. is there any sort of windows trick?

    Thanks

well whenever i run aero diagnostics it's always teh fact that dwm isn't running
and it enables it for me...

then i can use the program with dwm enabled (backto normal)
but when i close it and reopen it, FAILS again...

windows needs another checkup to see that this software is compatible with aero

sorry for triple posting but something weird just happened.. BUT IT WORKS

i opened it again, windows basic happened, and then i went to task manager and out of anger, i ended dwm.exe (2mb of memory)

immediately, it started again with 33mb of memory and windows aero was enabled (back to normal)

so i closed the program and reopened it and now it deosnt go to windows basic,..

Not exactly the best idea to end dwm, but it seems to have fixed your problem (possibly temporarily).

I'm not entirely sure why it was running at 2gb because it's normally supposed to hover around 30-50mb.

dwm.exe stands for desktop window manager and is responsible for aero and other window effects. I think what you may have done is just re-set it. It may or may not gather up enough memory to cause the same issues, I think time will tell. Hopefully it doesn't.

Some programs are so memory intensive or incompatible that they automatically shut of aero as you witnessed earlier.

Anyways, I hope that killing the process has indeed fixed your issue permanently :)
