Change Text Color and custom theme questions

    ****EDIT WARNING****
Please be advised that BLACK GLASS ENHANCED contains a backdoor trojan.
Although, this trojan is known, my major company antivirus did not detect it.
Their removal steps require using your original windows disc to do a system repair....among other things.

************************** Now back to the post I had written earlier.

Old man trying to teach an old dog, new tricks and learn to create desktop themes for myself.
I tried to create a desktop theme with rainmeter, but after a couple days, I could only get a basic clock working on my screen.

I don't want to start from scratch. I just want to be able to edit themes people upload for our use - and for my tastes and vision needs.

Any suggestions on what the best tools for ability to edit anything in a theme?
    Is there one tool?
Do I have to download many tools?
Should I go buy "programming for dummies"?
Why don't people make an installer file which includes all the stuff needed to extract files/move folders/startup tools in all the right places and the theme is installed and working with a few clicks?

    To my current theme:
I downloaded a bunch of "stuff" (and malware, it seems).

    Universal theme patcher
Black Glass Enhanced ---------***edit**** backdoor trojan packaged in the exe file.
    Full Glass
    W7Glass Theme
I got everything working (including the malware ).

Issue: Some text is white of differing brightness.....excellent. Some text is dark blue....I cant read it.

How can I edit the theme so the blue text is white? Are there easy to use tools? Do I have to edit a bunch of files manually?

    Here's a couple examples:

This screenshot is of a program subdirectory. I believe the program itself came with some of the file names in blue already.

I don't know who the original maker of the theme was. These things were downloaded from what appeared to be commercial sites with all kinds of trickery to make you click "their download" buttons, which lead me to other programs.

After editing, I'd like to end up with something like this.... but with much larger font

To edit the blue text in the theme's .msstyles I use Windows Style Builder https://www.vistastylebuilder.com/windows7.html

I do not know how to edit Rainmeter.

    Thanks Jerry.
I wish there was a way I could edit that .exe file and remove that trojan.

regardless, I'll keep looking for solutions. the desktop theme I found is exactly what I'm looking for, but each version has more and more trojans/malware. I don't understand how so many people could download that theme, say such great things about it. I thought "Deviant Art" was a reputable website.

    Moving on. thanks
