    Shortcuts

    Hi everyone,

Not sure this is the right place to put this, but hopefully a moderator would be so kind as to send this to the correct spot.

I've put some shortcuts on my desktop which I find makes life easier. However, when my wife logs on to her account on the same computer she also has these shortcuts and removes them. Which in turn removes them from my account as well.

My question is how do I personalize my desktop on my account without adding anything to hers?

Hi, welcome to the forums :)

What you'll find is that when installing applications for All Users the desktop icons are placed in c:\users\default\Desktop

You're best bet (if the wife don't want the icons) is to move the files from the above location to c:\users\[your name]\Desktop

       Note
You will have to have Hidden files, folders or drives enabled in the pic below

This will make the icons appear only in your account.

    Hope it helps :)
