Windows 7: base designs and websites

base designs and websites

I like the simple style, so I picked the contrast nr. 1, changed a few things and am now using it. But using this style breaks websites when viewed through Firefox [didn't try IE]. It seems as if background images just won't be displayed at all. Why would this be happening?

As an example, there's this page where there should be a mascot in the background. When viewing this site in the base design, the mascot just won't show up, and the option to show the background image is disabled in Firefox.

Does anyone have an idea why this is happening? If it helps I can upload the design file.
