    LOL, it's not as bad as it sounds.

    Something's probably being overlooked, but I can't think of it other than the suggestions I've already said.

    Don't worry Toffix, a Repair Install will not cause you any issues (it doesn't format).

    Have you run a WEI check? If Windows somehow reports an Aero score of less than 2.0 it will 'force' Windows Basic themes.

    Just try the Repair install. It doesn't take very long to do.

    He could also completey remove the graphics card rvier from his computer...restart...and reinstall the driver (the driver might be conficitng in some way...)
