Looking for a simple visual style - and willing to pay for it

    Hello, my name is Neil.

After installing Windows 7, I've found that the interface is lacking the finesse it should ideally have. Things like illegible white text on white gradients and horrible glows where transparency exists. Basically, I'm not happy with the layout.

I've installed a few custom styles, but nothing that I'm 100% happy with. To that end, I'd like to comission someone to design what I'm looking for and I will pay for it.

If you're a competent style builder and you'd like to do some work for me, either PM me or add me to Skype using the name theworkof. Please only get in touch if you have some examples that I can take a look at. Once I find someone who I feel comfortable working with, I will edit this post and close the offer. This post will also appear on more than one forum to get more attention.

I realise that it's a bit odd to offer payment for a Windows style when there's hundreds and perhaps thousands out there, but I don't really want to have to search through them all. I'd rather just pay you to make what I need.

    Do get in touch!
    Neil

    Hi speedgamer

I kept my specific needs out of my post to keep it short and to the point. In short however, I'm looking for something that looks similar to the Windows classic theme, but with updates to make it look modern. I'm a graphic designer and so I know exactly what I want, I just don't know/don't have the time to develop a style myself.

    Welcome to the Seven Forums
I am not sure you will get many takers there is 300 to 500+ images to change some images had 2 to 10 images in a image, many text colors, fill color etc.
Here is a program I and others use it's about $23 US Ave's Windows7 Style Builder that and a image editor will do it then you can make it for you.

    Hi Bongo

I'm aware of VSB. I took a look at it, but it involves editing things I know nothing about. As I said, I don't have time to do it myself, hence why I'm offering to comission someone to do it instead.

I see, then try here first, they have got many nice themes, one may be good for you.
OTOH you can't pay to some1 just like that but you can ask these guys to make you a theme.
I haven't spoke with them, but I'm sure if you post the same text to them some might make you one privately. (don't link :P)

dA was the first place I looked for skins, but as I said, I don't want to search through hundreds to find what I want. Thanks for the #customizers link, though.

As a graphic designer you should know the hours it would take, easily 40 to 80 hours for a good theme and many more for a great theme. How much would someone charge for such a thing?
