There is - ask Mr. Grimm to upload a copy or link to shell.32.dll and imageres.dll - but he may not want to

I can give you a link to this blue one, which is nice - http://files.getdropbox.com/u/1053192/blue.zip

Hey Grimm. Sounds like a fantastic idea. Much easier for us Iconically Challenged atm.

But before you do, there a chance at you making a blue libraries one to throw in? or which one of your blue do you substitute for the libraries one?

Also, I'm sure I can translate from the post you made on page 2 or 3, but a simple "This is where you copy paste the two .dll files and this is the thing you delete," would be nice too!

OK are you still using build 7100, I'm not sure if it makes a difference but I may have to change the version number for different builds.

For the Blue explorer icon you need to replace the one in the Explorer.exe or just right click on the icon you want to change go to properties and change the icon that way.

The 2 dll's you need to change are located in system32 for x86 and if you are running x64 then you will also need to make the changes to them in SysWOW64 as well, unfortunately the dll's in SysWOW64 are not the same as the ones in System32 (even though they have the same name) so you need the correct ones for the correct locations.

That also means I have to send everything twice which means about a 60MB download and unfortunatley I have just hit my usage limit for peak hours so I will have to wait untill Offpeak to upload them which is another 5 and a half hours away.

I will give you some more instructions when I post them.

I'm not computer savvy enough or in that big a need of these icons if it's that big of a pain. Thank you for the attempt. and if someone else wants the .dll's they can request it I guess.

You are still the king Grimm. Thanks!

OK, well I will try and make it fairly easy for you, I will make all the correct directories and then you can just put it straight in your c:/ directory and they will all be placed in there correct locations.

The only thing you will need to do is make some backups of them first and take ownership, which can be very easy if you have added the take ownership shortcut to the context menu.

Take Ownership Shortcut

Another tip is to change the view to sort by size and then the files you are trying to find will be at the top of the list as show in the pic.

lol Grim. Thanks for the update. I really was just trying to make things easier for you. Not make you explain it more in depth!

Thanks for the assistance either way. Much appreciated.

OK here they are, they are from the latest build 7264 so unless you are using that build I am not sure if they will work so use at your own risk if not and make sure you make a restore point first.

One more very important thing you will have to do is clear the icon cache, located in your user name/AppData/local/IconCache.db to see the AppData folder you will need to set the folder options to show hidden folders.
