Thanks John, I'm using the second one from above but you need to apply them to see the true colour, as you can see they become brighter.

Thanks for the clear and helpful instructions lol +1. I have just actually done a system restore because I had no sound after using the the installer for the glossy blue icons. Was it the installer or some other reason that would have screwed with my sound? I might try to use the installer again and see if the sound isnt affected but i'm guessing the 7600 build and 7229 build have different sound directories that the installer touched? Lemme know what you think. Thanks again.

It shouldn't effect sound in any way what-so-ever

The only thing the installer does is replace the dll's with dll's that have had the icons contained within them edited.

Having said that, the problem with using dll's from a different Windows build is that some of the API's (Application Programming Interface) inside them could be different.

API's is how the system communicates with each dll, a bit like a command-line if you will, so if the API is different or not there the system can't talk to the dll for that specific task. One of the dll's could very likely contain a sound API.

If you want you can upload the dll's for you build and I will make some custom icons for your build and that should make sure you don't have any API issues or problems with your sound.

If you have a skydrive that would be best as they are too big to upload to the forum.
