Control Panel shows "No screensaver." I cannot get one to be selected

    just to throw this in, screen saver issues may be related to power options problems:

    Power Options and Sleep Mode Problems - Vista Forums

    If anything, try reinstalling your video drivers and disable hibernation and hybrid sleep.

    I would just try doing a system restore. You have nothing to lose. If it doesn't work I can diagnose more. But system restore would be the best thing to do right now
