    Aero.theme Deleted/Lost!

I'm a new member here and my aero.theme or windows 7 standard got somehow deleted. I was applying a theme and then the desktop crashed forcing me to restart the computer. When it finished booting I noticed it was on windows classic.theme I tried to re enable it but to my surprise, It wasn't there! I looked everywhere in my computer and the web for another one but I can't seem to find one! Please help...

Welcome to Seven Forums headhuntr117. I'm confused as Windows Seven Home Basic does not support themes. What exactly are you changing and how? Screenshots would help most. Are you just changing the Color scheme?

    Theme - Change or Save

I know you can do some theming with Personalization Panel , but I have never done it myself as I don't have Basic.

Let us know how you do what you do, and we may be able to help you.

If you mean one of the standard color schemes, suggest you run the System File Checker

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Well Yes I was changing my color scheme when My computer went all black! The start button would not respond, I could open windows but they would be transparent and I couldn't see items. I restarted my pc and the aero.theme file was gone! It was not in recycle bin meaning the system has deleted it! Can someone upload a backup or something?

And I used a method to apply themes to my home basic so... Yeah. And it's the one found in c:/windows/resources/Ease of access themes. And when it's gone the themes windows 7 standard and windows 7 basic are gone.

Although it looks like you solved this problem, I should note that there is a very similar thread with lots of resolutions to this kind of issue for those who are still searching for solutions.
