I don't know if they will work in XP or not, but most likely not. The free program below works in XP though.

I think we must edit in registry or windows system folder ,maybe change background's "my computer" because it not folder,just only display local disk.
Are you able to change the background in the Computer window using either one of the first two programs posted above?
Yes,i used two soft you posted in #1 but it only work in lacal disk folder and subfolder.
I couldn't get the Windows 7 Folder changer to work at all and the other doesn't do anything for library backgrounds or for folders displayed via a library either.
Apparently this can be done by changing the .ini file
