Aero Theme issue on Dell Studio 1555

    Sorry for the double post.
Posting this on the General Discussion forum since that seems to have more on the Aero display issue.

I recently got a Dell Studio 1555 laptop and installed Windows 7 on it.
The Aero theme background really becomes funky and full of lines as seen in the attached images. Sometimes application window displays also get messed up as in the attached Paint window.

I installed the latest Driver for the Video from Dell site but that doesnt seem to solve the issue.

Following is the configuration of my laptop:
    Intel® Pentium™ Dual Core T4200 (2.0GHz/800Mhz FSB/1MB cache)
    3GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 800MHz
15.6” Full High Definition (1080p) High Brightness LED Display with TrueLife™ and Camera
    Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD

    Can you please help?

Did you try using the updated driver from MS?

Have you tried the newer driver that is available via WindowsUpdate?

Is your operating system 32-bit or 64-bit? Please specify. For now make sure the aero is turned off, and try these (install driver corresponding to OS):
    32-bit drivers for your VideoCard
    64-bit drivers for your VideoCard

    Check your RAM

    Hi,

have a 1737 and had the same issue. With my delivery I got 3GB RAM. I tried everything. At the end it was a the 1GB RAM chip causing this issue it was a H***x chip. I'm not sure if the chip was the root cause or the configuration at all.
Try removing that chip, and just boot up with 2GB. For me it worked. Will now search for a replacement...

    Cheers

nudge is totally right, it didn't make a lot of sense to me until I tried it, my studio 1555 had 3g of ram, I removed the sodimm with only 1gb, and now the video works fine, If I add the dimm again, in either of the 2 memory slots, the video problem returns, it sucks, but it works, THANKS SO MUCH "nudge" I've been having this issue for a looooong time
