    Changed background

I recently tried the themes option in the control panel, didn't like it and went back to the windows 7 original. I thought. But it did not work, every time I start my computer the other background is there. I have deleted the download and checked the windows 7 theme original group, but nothing gets rid of the unwanted background. I have windows 7 ultimate. How do I keep the original one?

    Try the following.

    1. Press the Windows Logo Key + R to open the Run box.

    2. Copy and paste the following path into the box, then press OK:

    %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\

    3. Delete the TranscodedWallpaper.jpg file, and then try to change your theme again.

Thank you so much for the fast response. I did all you suggested and it worked. I restarted and my original background was still there. So I am hoping it will be there tomorrow when I open it up. You are great to share your information and I thank you ..again

    Background back again

I thought the suggestions from yesterday worked, and they did ...yesterday. But when I booted up this morning the unwanted theme showed up. Now I am back to square one. Any thing else I can do??

Navigate to C:\windows\Resources\Themes and click on the theme there. It will look like this:

    Changed background-theme.jpg

If that does not work, Right click the desktop> Personalization

Post a screenshot of the Personalization window

I found the windows theme called aero, looks like what I want. Clicked on that and am back to what I want. Now it it will hold after I close down tonight and restart tomorrow. That is where the problem comes in. It wouldl hold after a restart, but not after I close it down for the night. thanks again

Yes, Aero, mine was just an example. It's possible you have a new theme created in personalization, but the original theme will show in Resources. Fingers crossed. A Guy

Well it is back again this morning. I tried the screen shot with Paint and when I try to open it to upload, I get a box telling me it is not compatible with this version of windows. Strange since I just did it through Paint. Any suggestions?
