Windows XP Theme for Windows 7|Don't wan't Areo|

My friend wan'ts to buy my computer so that he can play minecraft on it. But he said that he doesn't wan't windows 7 and he wants windows xp. I know how much better windows 7 is than windows xp, so I got a windows xp theme and I changed the start menu and stuff, but there is something that won't look right.....

Yup, it has that highlight over the icons on the desktop. I've tried to change the settings so my computer runs for best performance, so it looks a lot like windows classic and it doesn't have the highlight over the icons. But than when I switch back to the theme, the highlights are back and it is getting really annoying.

Is there any way I can remove those under shadow things from the icons so that they look like the ones in windows xp while still using the windows xp theme?

Mmmmm your talking XP - TweakUI for XP works (Open TweakUI, expand "Explorer", highlight "Shortcut", and you will see all the options)

TweakUI for XP freeware - Download Tweak UI 2.1 - FileHippo.com

Hope its OK talking XP here

It says: Cannot Set Up Microsoft Windows PowerToys

It says that it is for windows xp and window 2003. But I have windows 7. So if I downloaded it for windows 7, would I be able to preform this task?

    That didn't work either

Do you know how you go to your computer settings and switch it from "Let windows choose whats best for my computer" to "Adjust for best performance?" Well, when you do that, and you hover over an icon on your desktop, it isn't highlighted or anything like that, it looks like the windows xp icon. That's what I'm trying to ask but still keep the same theme and stuff; I just want to change the icons so that there is no highlight when you hover over an icon. Sorry for the misunderstanding

Take a look at this theme below

Download Windows XP “Royale Blue” Theme for Windows 7 - Tweaking with Vishal

But then again your friend doesn't want Windows 7 changing the theme will still be windows 7 unless you install Windows XP

If you have windows 7, and set it to windows classic theme, there is no highlight over the icon.

Picture one has the highlight when you hover over the icon.

Picture two has no highlight when you hover over the icon.
