Can't change back from Windows 7 basic

So recently I got a prompt telling me to switch to W7 basic, so I switched to it and now I cannot change back to my theme of a black transparent taskbar.
From underneath the themes section I can see that my theme is selected and that the window colour should be black but it has stayed blue, whenever I try to go to the glass colour editor I just get a window that shows me the W7 basic options. I have tried to use the Aero transparency fix but it does not detect any problems with it.

    Help would be much appreciated.

    Welcome to the Seven Forums

Click on the Start Button type in Services In the search box and then click on Services

Scroll down until you see Desktop Windows Manager Sessions Manager select it in click on the Stop text and let it stop after that click on Start text and see if that works. Your screen may blink when you do this.

It is ok now that was not the problem. The problem was that my display switched from 32 bit True colour to 16 bit full colour therefore not allowing me to use Aero themes.
