    What is explorerframe.dll?

May I know what the heck is explorerframe.dll and what does it does?

Windows 7 have rounded rectangle window border.
Windows 8 have pointed rectangle border.

Now how do i change my win7 window border from rounded rectangle to pointed without using transformation pack but manually?

    thanks in advance

    Welcome to the Seven Forums

Not sure of what all the explorerframe.dll does but I know it where the navigation, refresh, search buttons are in it(see screenshot with red arrows pointing at them)

and I know the window frame you are wanting to change is not in the explorerframe.dll, it's in the Steam #971 image in the aero.msstyles(see screenshot). You would need to use a resources hacker of some kind and extract the Steam #971 image and edit it with a image editor, then import the Steam #971 image back in.

But I recommend starting a new theme so you do not mess up the default aero, look at Post #38 Here it will show you how.

You will need to do 1 of these 2 ways of Enabling custom themes for it to work.

Explorerframe.dll contains many of the resources (bitmaps, icons, menus, etc) that are used by explorer. Most of the work of explorer is done by the supporting dlls.
