Animated Themes

Hi All - I must be dense but could someone please explain how the themes, animated themes and wallpaper work. What I don't understand is to get this to work in Windows 7 there seem to be many ways to do it.
There is the 3 files that need changing version, from this Windows Sevenforums tutorial site. By the way this has to be one of the greatest sites in the computer world!
There is Stardocks deskscape version which I guess takes care of it all.
Then I ran into the version on My Digital Life How to Install and Enable DreamScene in Windows 7 My Digital Life which talks about the Dreamscene files being added to make it work. Ok so do you need all of these to get it working? Only one version to get it to work? Or all 3 versions need using? Oh, and i think I saw another that uses Uxstyle. That one says it doesn't modify any files. So, to not screw up my Windows 7 Ultimate which of these is needed to get animated wallpaper working?

Thank You For your time
