In that case, here's a copy of the High Contrast #1 theme from my system with default settings in a ZIP file below.

If you like, you can download it and replace the hc1.theme file in the C:\Windows\Resources\Ease of Access Themes folder location on your computer with this one to go back to default.

Be sure you select to use a different theme until after replacing this one. Afterwards, you can select to use this one again.

Are you logged in to an administrator account when trying to copy the .theme file into the folder?

Double clicking on the downloaded .theme file is just to test and see if it will still change your theme this way instead.

Hi, Double click works without need to copy it , as you say.
But kindly let me know this.
i tried net user command to log in as admin
i ofcourse got login screen as administrator,
But, it asks for pass word, and when i tried to reset password
by using net user USER Password command
i do not find anything in return, but it never allows me to log in as admin
    why
i went to the administrator account, and found that aacount disabled is unchecked.
But , unchecking the compulsory password, for login, it is unchecking and rechecking , it gets ticked.
please give me solution for this.
Thanks Brink for your theme file.
i would be happy if you could give me hc2, hc3. etc as well , as it not only helps me , but also help others who would have meddled with the default hc themes
    hope that i get replies

Is your account not an administrator? If not, that would be why you got the access denied message when trying to copy the .theme file into that system folder.

Does the .theme file get installed into the folder below for the current account? If so, the themes should be available to select in your theme settings.

    %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes

    OR

    C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Themes

I'll upload a copy of hc2 and hc3 tomorrow for you.
