    Windows slower when using themes?

Little question: I'm thinking about to use a third party theme for my windows 7 notebook, but I've read that it will decrease the speed of my notebook. Is this true and will my laptop be very slow?

    Tnx!

The themes should have no effect on the speed of your computer...

I haven't noticed any difference in windows 7 functionality or slower speeds, and i have used a few different 3rd party themes. I am back to just having Megan Fox as my background now with the matrix screensaver

For the most part, the average user won't notice any performance degradation from using Aero, or the Win7 themes. However, if you have a lower end graphics card, or tend to use alot of graphics intensive applications, you can benefit from turning off Aero and the Win7 themes.

In other words, unless you've got a graphics card with less than a 3.0 rating in WEI or run alot of gfx apps, you're fine.
