    Custom Themes Help

I'm not exactly sure what goes where, as i'm new here, but i've recently ran into a problem where i can't add custom themes to Windows 7. I've looked up that Windows 7 doesn't support custom themes by default, but i've managed to find certain online devices that would help with the installation of these themes (Universal Theme Patch). After i patched the files through Universal Theme Patch, and rebooted my computer, it seemed like everything would go well, but once i tried to use a custom theme, it just through my desktop back to a basic theme. Even the icons for the themes lok like black squares instead of a small sample design, so it looks like something is not allowing them to process onto my computer. I'm also using Vistaglazz as well and have also patched files within that too....am i doing something wrong?

well see the problem is that i've followed those steps, and i add the themes to the theme folder, but when i click on the theme, it just sets my Windows Theme back to basic.

You know when you have a theme in your theme folder, and you see the theme icon along with all the other themes. Well my custom themes look like black boxes where usually there's a sample picture, and like i said before, when i click it, it just bring my windows theme back to basic

i did this as well, but still after the whole process....

when i sent my custom theme to the themes folder it didn't show up in the installed themes area. When i clicked on the theme.exe via original file it would put my Windows back to basic theme, and then then the theme would show up on the intalled themes are in Personalization, but as a black box.

If that failed then i would say the best bet is to run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker if that didn't work then Repair Install

    Hope this helps,

i might have to kick the bucket on this one. I had one theme work actually, but the file was set rather differently, as it was Vishal related, so the installation was pretty direct. My issue now is that i can't get custom themes in Winrar to extract to the Themes folder, and if by chance one does, it doesn't show up in the Personalization Window
