They should give you the key when you download it. technet.microsoft.com -> sign in using Live user and pass -> go to downloads -> Operating systems -> Windows 7 -> then it should show up with download and key. Its greyed out because it hasnt been released yet, just wait.

Okay, the windows 7 site said it's down temporary as they add more servers - however, where is the place you can get the KEY ?

Why don't they have this up or is getting the key part of the process of downloading?

I think I asked this but not sure what the anwser of yes was to but is todays download the same as the one that was linked here earlier?

I went there (have a LIVE email) but saw a BENIFIT ACCESS ID. I don't have one of those, so where to the normal folks login to get the key?

I think someone should explain, step by step what we need to do.

Example:
* If we downloaded the version here from this forum and it's the same, what we need to do to get a key.

* Do we need a LIVE id.

* If we downloaded the version from here, what is the next steps.

composer, go to page 39 in the first thread in the "news" forum on this site. It has the step by step directions in a post by duderino. His instructions worked perfect. I got 3 keys already.

used to be the a recorder for a band when i was in HS (i was also part of it...lol)

used pro tools for the most part with adobe audition/cooledit pro....

also have some experience with live shows....

Thank you = I got a key last night and several keys today, a few simply by hitting refresh.

Thank you all so much. As well, what is all this talk about 10 keys? Are they releasing just 10 keys? Someone typed this earlier and would like someone to explain what the 10 keys mean. TIA

No, while I like garage band (similar to Acid in a way), I like in no particular order, Nuendo, Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic (great deal by the way), Reason, Ableton, EWQLSO, Stormdrum, Trilogy, Atmosphere, Absynth, Reaktor, Gigastudio and more.

Most of the time its either Nuendo (PC) and Logic (MAC) in that order. If you are not doing a lot of post, Cubase is a great deal these days for the PC as it has come a long way.
