Upinya!
So, in the last 48 hrs. I have received 4 different phone calls, from a "Microsoft security rep". Two of the four calls were based out of Eau Claire, WI - and the other 2 were just random phone numbers that contained too many digits to be a real phone #. I called backed the WI phone # and I reached some guy named "Mike" and left a voice mail, because I wanted to let him know that someone is spoofing his phone #...

These people call me claiming that they are calling from MS and want me to go into my computer and enter some type of command by holding down the windows key & with other letter combinations (with a heavy accent from either India or Pakistan). Obviously, I am not stupid and know that these guys are full of $hit. So, I play along pretending that I am doing what they tell me to do to my computer. Then I tell them someone is at my door, leaving them on hold until they hang up out of frustration (one guy even cussed me out because I called him on his BS).

I would like to report this to Microsoft, however they do not make it easy to contact a real person who could actually do something about this - I tried...

Dam scammers, usually they get you to look for errors on you PC which naturally occur and correct themselves, but they want you to think they are serious and they want remote access to your PC to "fix" them for you and they also want your credit card details to charge you a lot of money for fixing something that ain't broke.

It upsets me, people like me or you know they are scammers, but sadly some poor folk fall for it and get ripped off.

Yup, I wonder A. How they got my phone #, B. Why they have called me 4 times in the last 48 hrs., and C. How to put a stop to this nonsense...

I bet they succeed quite a bit in getting people to follow through w/ this little scam...
