Solved 6 window updates wont install - Error code 800B0100

Clean installed Windows 7 Pro (SP1) 32bit on Toshiba Portege R600 laptop running XP Pro. Went well till I did first big update (206) then wouldn't boot. Tried everything to get it to work but had to reinstalled Win7 again.

Ran scan disk - no problems found, so started update process again. Used the Windows 7 SP1 Convenience Rollup to install this big update, without any problems. After restarting said there was another 6o+ to install and this is where the issues started...everything installed but 5 Net Frame updates and 6 Security updates (KB3004375, KB3031432, KB3080149, KB2676562, KB3068708 & KB2984972) - Error codes 800B0100 & 66A

Installed latest Windows Update Agent restarted PC. Ran Windows troubleshooter.. 800700D not fixed and Crytographic service not registerd - not fixed..all other fixed.

Did windows update reset (https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91738-windows-update-reset.html) reinstalled latest Windows Update Agent & restarted again. Ran trouble shooter and it came back as fixed. Tried again - All the Net Frame updates installed but the 6 security patches still fail. Tried download and manually install - same error message.. Ran Troubleshooter again and original errors show up again, but when I open trouble shooting report it shows them as all fixes??

Restarted the PC again and the updates window showed there us 7 instead of 6...ran install and the new one installed without any problems but the original 6 still wont.

I have now spent 4 days trying to get this sorted so any help (that does not involve starting froms scratch if possible :cry:

) would be very much appreceated.

Hi EssG,
couple of problems,

can you run this elevated command mode, copy/paste it,
wusa /uninstall /KB:3060716

did it report as successfull,
if so
REBOOT

now your system is activated but NOT registered, please install KB971033.

can you try updating.

Hi Roy..it came back with the same error code as when I try to install updates- 0x800b0100 see attached screen print

Hi Ess,
the easy way failed, follow the instructions below please

download the attached file, info.zip and save this to your Desktop.
Right-click on the file and select Extract All...
Tick the box labelled Show extracted files when complete then click Extract
A window will open showing the required Packages

Open the Packages folder and copy the files into the following folder
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

Run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) again.
When the SURT finishes installing, copy (Ctrl + C) and paste (Ctrl + V) the contents of the SURT log
into your next post please:
