I have about a 3 year old Win 7 64-bit computer. It has had Windows update issues for quite some time and always been a bit quirky. I just started reading about the error code and have done all of the appropriate response fixes from Microsoft. Let me preface this by saying I have always had issues with the memory which I am installing new chips hopefully today. Until then I was wondering if someone could have a look at the simple text that SFCFix came up with. It will be below. I also cannot run the scf /scannow command in windows or safe mode due to the usual system protection thing. I thought maybe if I posted the SFCFix log maybe someone will recognize it as being something that someone has seen. I am also attaching the CBS log. Thank you in advance.

You have bitflips in the registry - possibly the result of problems with RAM.
I suggest testing with MemTest86+ first to check that out.
I need to have a look at your COMPONENTS registry hive
Please copy the C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENTS file (no extension) to your desktop and then compress it - upload the compressed file to your favoured fileshare site (preferably Dropbox or OneDrive) and post a link.

I replaced the memory yesterday and I will get that zipped components directory to you soon when I get up to the business where the computer is. Thank you for your help.
Ok I will do. In the mean time I have uploaded the zipped components file to dropbox. Please let me know if you cannot access it and I will use something else. Thank you.
... finally had a chance to look at it - and it's not good news.
There is massive corruption present - probably caused by faulty RAM.
I doubt that the corruption is confined only to the COMPONENTS hive, so I think your best option is a repair install - or a clean install.
