Scenario.
I installed Quickbooks 2007. It stated it needed IE 6 or a newer version to work. I installed IE 9 everything worked fine. My SSHD is nearly full. The SSHD is 80gb, though I have several TB's on 4 other drives. I searched forums and found a program (it searches and tells you what's on your drive, with a "map" of the areas on the drive below the search results. I don't remember the name and I am not at that particular computer today. Anyhow, I deleted about 9gb of files. Don't recall the file extensions, but they are produced when the computer goes into hibernation. Well, on top of that I NEVER use IE so I went to the control panel and without thinking deleted it along with others. Went to run QB 2007 again and it asked me to install IE 6 or a newer version in order to run. Slapping my forehead, I went to my "Downloaded Files" folder and selected the IE9 installer that was remaining from the previous day. Well, moments after selecting the installer, it prompts me with an error type message, "A newer version of this software exists cannot continue," or a very similar message. I have searched in vane for a solution though I cannot find a suitable answer to my particular problem.
That was problem one.
Another less problematic though annoying issue. I had installed Webroot months ago and found I did not like it. Now I try to uninstall it in the control panel and it states the program is in use, though it isn't. How do I rid the computer of this.
