hey , so i do a lot of long downloading and waiting for my pc to finish certain tasks that take often forever to complete. I was wondering if there is a particular program i can use to sort of leave my computer running and have it complete those tasks as if i were still using it.

Just turn off everything in power options and your pc should do what you want without interruption, if that`s what you mean.

You will have to explain more. What tasks? If you mean subsequent automatic installation of programs, then I would say there isn't a good answer. I don't think Zomby's answer is what you are looking for, if I understand your post correctly.

You have to explain that phrase a bit more in detail.

Are you trying to say the computer turns off in the middle of a LONG downloading ?

IF your computer is turning off in the middle of a long download or other task (and I'm not really sure if this is what you mean), you might want to take a look at this Microsoft forum answer. Although the answer specifically addresses a computer turning off during a security scan, the tips and suggestions apply eqully as well to any long download or task.

I think he means that he downloads a lot of files, then runs a parity checker on those files and then finally un-compresses those downloaded files.
I get my stuff from Usenet and I use a program called News Rover that will download, parity check, and decompress the files I downloaded automatically.
