according to the registry, wmplayer is listed to open .exes? + other Q

I hit a web site yesterday that gave me a popup about updating Media Player. As I checked further it turned out NOT to be for Windows Media Player so I got away from there in a hurry.

This is unrelated as the key arises from a local source, and i haven't been on dangerous sites.

I mentioned it only because of the possibility the issue arose unknowingly. A "local source" should be locatable.

The only update I got for wmp was through the official windows update.
