Please give an instruction on how to add the .nfo file type to Win7 file associations. I normaly use NFO++
to make this file type and want a retrievable icon for it on the file associations list.

Stack overflow had some procedure requiring editing the registry. I hope there is a less invasive solution.

thanks

Thanls for the reply. I'm familiar with those screens. What I want to do is add a file extension called .nfo which is an Information file type in common usage.

The previous article I mentioned said that XP had a simple add button. I may have done that way back when. But in Win7 it made it more difficult.

I'll supply the link to that so we are talking about the same thing:

Add a new file association in Windows 7 - Stack Overflow

I have some HDs for experiments and tests. I may have to go through the multiple step
Reg Edit if I want to have the option. If that's the case I'll mark solved with that method.
