Adding buttons to the explorer toolbar

I've already done some research and I found out how to add custom buttons to the explorer toolbar via the registry, but the only problem is that each of these guides i've read only describe how to add a button with a single function. Does anybody know if it is possible to add a drop-down box? I want to add the "New" context menu to that bar so that I don't have to right click, then click on new each time...

I think i know what you are looking for,do you mean the taskbar?

If so right click the taskbar and select toolbars>new toolbar
Then point it to the direction of the folder you want to access.Click OK

There will be a new toolbar on the bottom right of your screen.

I alread know what you are referring to there. You can add individual buttons for single purpose with each registry value created for Windows Explorer not the Start taskbar. In fact Ultramon used for dual monitor setups adds a change screen as well as max across both screens pair of buttons for any window!

So far no one has really worked out a small utility for combining several reg mods like those as well as delete, move, and other functions all rolled up together. This mainly due to the various changes in the registry for each version of Windows since any customizing program like that would be cross version to start with until someone works out one just for 7 alone.

Hmm.. well, I was wondering if my situation would be a bit different, because i'm looking to add a drop down that is already a function of Windows - the "New" context menu that you get when you right-click on an empty space in the explorer window or on the desktop. I wasn't trying to make my own "list" of functions.

But thanks for the info anyhow. Was just wondering if anybody had any knowledge.

There are ways to make shortcuts for individual things and add them into a new toolbar you add to the taskbar there. In fact one of the new guides here shows how to create a single shortcut that opens up everything found in the Control Panel you simply pin to the taskbar which can come in real handy even if it isn't precisely what you were looking for. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/44340-control-panel-all-tasks-list-shortcut.html

That guide you posted there was an interesting coincidence since I've been trying to get the delete button option for the 64bit 7 using other tweaks. The guide for the new all combined shortcut replaces the Control Panel shortcut effectively as well as the Windows 7-in-a-box roll up of CP items split across about 6 separate buttons.
