Hi, first of all sorry for my bad english.
Thes is a software (Open source) at https://sourceforge.net/p/sevendeskbar for add extra toolbar to windows 7 desktop. is an alpha version.

Yeah there are a ton of third party tools to do that for 7 like RocketDock and others. One of a small number of explorer/shell backsteps from XP and even Vista in some cases. :/

Take a look at this excellent instructional video by whs. Toolbars - How to Create and Use - Windows 7 and Vista It shows you how to add toolbars to the desktop. You might be able to use this method to create more than one toolbar.

You misunderstand. I refer to the feature functionality as it worked in XP.

For my three monitors I want one toolbar each.

One bar on the right side of the right monitor, and...
One bar on the left side of the left monitor, and...
One bar on the bottom or on the top of the center monitor.

All three bars configured with different content (application/object links) specific/tailored to what I want to access on/at whatever particular monitor each one is attached to.

THAT is what I find missing that was available in XP (among some others).

THAT is what is not possible in WIN7 (at the moment at least).

There are some 3rd party tools out there yes, but they look like fisher price toys invariably or lack the features or simple non-distracting system integrated appearance of the original.

When I have the time to dig into it I will probably put my own tool together to do just that (I am a software developer). Finding the time is the issue.

Currently I have icons all over the place localized to whatever monitor the desktop real estate is specific to.

I used to have toolbars. Now I have homeless icons in the Desktop Wilderness.

Primitive.

Annoying.

It is a fair user interface step back.

You're right flirno. But your complaint is with Microsoft, not with those of us who are trying to help you approximate as closely as possible, what is available for Windows 7.

Why don't you complain to Microsoft? If enough users did that, the thousands (perhaps millions) of us who are perpetually frustrated by their unwanted changes, perhaps the company would respond positively.

Got a response -- it was a canned response indicating that no plans are currently in place to support that kind of functionality.

Yeah...a long way from just dragging an icon into a folder to setup toolbars. Currently when there are too many icons I create a folder in the area and put the lesser used ones into them. I remember way back when it was possible to turn a folder (or at least alter its desktop instantiation/materialization) itself into a 'library' (with just a context menu option) that was basically a toolbar-ish button array (or perhaps a custom control panel) -- this may have been as far back as Windows 3.0 or 3.1. Interestingly that option dropped out or was hidden at some point.

Found an application that appears to fulfill this role perfectly.

There are some others out there now that may do something similar and simply (no flashy, space consuming, gaudy fisher price graphics, just straight forward, clean and space conserrvative industrial which is how I want it).

It took a while but 3rd party add ons have started to fill this particular UI shortfall.
