Admin password assignment hung up?

I just got a computer from ebay and it came with Win7. I boot it and it doesn't have any password. Once in I go to Manage Accounts, Change an Account, Create Password for the Admin and put in a password in the "Confirm new password" field (odd that). Then I click "Create password" . . . and it goes forever, thrashing the disk, finally saying "Not Responding." What's wrong? What should I have done?

First off, passwords are useless and not needed, anyone can hack into a computer with a password.

With that said, you should clean install windows.

Have you ever even used/tried it ? You may hate it.

The suggestion I gave you in reply #2 is the best thing you can do, trust me

Was this a brand new PC, or was it someone elses`s nightmare ?

And why did you think it was odd when it asked you to confirm the new password ? That is totally normal.

But as I`ve stated passwords are absolutely useless.
