Aero Peek Bad News for Powerpoint users

So, has anyone tried to give a PowerPoint presentation where the "slide show" is being sent to a video projector (using extended desktop) while Aero Peek is activated? If you hover over a taskbar item that has a non-maximized window open, Aero Peek shows you that window with the desktop behind it and the full-screen window of the PowerPoint presentation on your second display goes away completely.

This is a HUGE issue for anyone who uses PowerPoint in this way. MS thought enough to add a "Presentation Mode" to Vista/Win7. Why can the user choose to disable Aero Peek when in Presentation mode??

Somebody's got some 'splaining to do...

You are able to disable aero with each app that you use. Right click the app that you want to use go to properties and under the compatability tab choose disable desktop composition. Next time you run it it will disable the aero effect. You can do this for any application you want to run.

The slide show only goes away while the mouse hovers over the non-maximized "peek" thumbnail. Move the mouse and the slide show comes back.

Thanks for the suggestion, RST101! That totally works. I'd still like to see MS fix the actual issue in Presentation Mode, though.

I agree, i'd like to see Microsoft allow Windows to use the extended desktop (Monitor 1) as a completely different entity that's not controlled from the main screen (Monitor 2). Even a secondary taskbar would be a godsend, without the need for 3rd party software.
