"an add on for this website..."

Once in a while I get a bar at the bottom of my browser window (IE 11) that says an add-on failed to load, or words to that effect. This doesn't happen all the time, I notice it more on youtube. Is there a way to see which add-on IE is talking about?

See if you can post a screenshot next time it happens.

An add-on for this website failed to run. Check the security settings in Internet options for potential conflicts.

A webpage tried to use an ActiveX control or script but your security settings did not allow it.

If you trust the publisher of the ActiveX control or script, you can allow it to run by removing the website address from the Restricted sites list. If the website is not on the Restricted sites list, you can add it to the Trusted sites list. For information about adding a website to your Trusted sites list, see Security zones: adding or removing websites. If that doesn't work, try deleting the temporary Internet files. If you are unable to change these settings, your computer administrator might not allow you to make the change.

P.S. Many have found removing doubleclick.net from the Restricted sites list will often stop the information bar warning.

I have the Shockwave flash object add-on installed, along with a couple that Office 2013 put there.

I do have doubleclick.net in my restricted sites list. That could be causing it. So if a site refers to or has adds from doubleclick, I'll get the message bar?

Yeah, it's being served from an external source. The "addon" name is not precise in the warning..

Try this, navigate to Tools> Internet Options> Security> Trusted sites> Custom level> Scroll down to Websites in less privileged web content zone can navigate into this zone

What is it set to? Mine is Enable. You can test Disabled.

On that same page> Reset custom settings> Reset to Medium (default)> Reset button
