annoying sound prob with ableton live

when im running Ableton live i dont get sound through anything else
if i play something on VLC or on youtube there is no sound till i close Ableton,
likewise if ive got something running like youtube and start up Ableton i can then hear any sound comming from Ableton till i close youtube.
any ideas to get around this cause its quite annoying?

If you haven't yet open Windows Playback properties and do the following,

thanks stormy but that didnt work, ive had a play around and it seems its because im using the ASIO4ALL drivers in Ableton if i change this back to the MME/DirectX driver then i can here sound from video as well as in Ableton at the same time.
ASIO4ALL driver is much better so will continue to use this and i will have to switch the driver if i need to listen to audio from another source which is a bit of a pain but not as bad as having to shut something down.

anyone know if there is a way around this?
