Any way to not record the same show twice?

I couldn't find an answer for this:

Is there any way I can record a series, have it record the reruns, but have it not record the same rerun twice? That way I can catch up on series that I have missed and not have to delete multiple episodes.

Maybe it does this automatically as I haven't recorded much yet, but I'm just making sure.

Welcome to the forum.

Actually, this IS how it works... based on "history" that is kept by WMC. So even if you specify "all recordings" and "anytime" rather than just "new only" at a "specific time", it will NOT record duplicates.

So yes, it will pick up "new" as well as "reruns/repeats", but they will be non-duplicated.

That's how they built it, which is great!

Same Problem

I am having the same problem. It will record 3 of the same episode of the same show right after one another. It is like it cannot tell what the episode name is, even though the exact episode name shows up in the guide.
