Hey guys sorry if this is in the wrong section, but i'm looking to upgrade from a HDD to SSD. I've been reading online about my board and apparently the marvell 9128 controller sucks speed wise. I was looking at the Corsair Force 3 because of the read/write speeds. Upon doing more digging though it looks like id be better off running a drive on the SATA 2 ports. Would I then be better off getting a SATA 2 SSD for slightly cheaper?

I'm confused on what to do. Any advice would be much appreciated. :)

Cheers.

See My Specs. Intel SATA II works better for me than Marvel SATA III. All those spec sheets means very little in real world applications. I chose the Intel 510 for three reasons, reliability, reliability, 5 year warranty.

Cheers for the reply mate. I can't really afford to buy a new board yet and I'm unsure if I can get a PCI card that will run the drive to its stated speeds. The intel drives look a little pricey I'm looking to spend about £100-120 on one. I have a £150 budget but I also need a new mouse lol. The corsair drive is £114.99. Can anyone else recommend a drive best suited for my board for that price. Needs to be 120-128GB.

Cheers. :)
