When attempting to enable this device I get "Attempting to Authenticate" message but no connection although it sees the available network. Have tried resetting cable modem, router, and restart of computer. Attempts to diagnose and repair by the computer fail and I receive a message that the problem cannot be fixed by the computers resources.

Any suggestions for next steps?

Welcome to Seven Forums,

Have you tried changing the wireless security to Open just to test it out if you're able to connect, then try WEP, WPA or WPA2? It's best if you can use WPA2.....

Have you also tried connecting your laptop to another wireless networks - Public or Hotspots?

Also, from your computer can you please post a Xirrus snip. Download, install and run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector.
To run Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector, double click the Xirrus icon on your Desktop, you may use the Windows 7 snipping tool to crop or Paint by tapping the Print screen key on your keyboard, open up Paint (Click on Start>All Programs>Accessories>Paint) then choose Edit from the Menu and select Paste, then save it and please attach the file on your next post.

Can you also post ipconfig/all output for review?
